My Philosophy
My philosophy is simple: to support you in YOUR goals for your birth. My utmost concern is your comfort (both physical and emotional) during labor and I will provide suggestions and techniques to help you through this life-changing process.
I believe:
-
Pregnancy and labor should be supported with evidence-based care.
-
A woman should be supported in the way she wants to birth.
-
Partners play a vital role during pregnancy and childbirth.
My Story
Hello! My name is Devina. I grew up in Mombasa, Kenya where women often labored with other experienced mamas around them!
I made the decision to become a birth doula so I can provide women and their partners with the information and support they need to go through their pregnancy and birthing journey with confidence.
My educational background is in global public health. I have 12 years of work experience in maternal-child health, and family planning/reproductive health. I am a registered nurse with experience in Labor & Delivery. I’m also a mama to a beautiful baby girl.
My own birth story and postpartum journey had its own ups and downs, and I’m happy to share lessons from my journey to help women and their partners feel empowered and supported as they experience birth.
